My wife is a sushi expert. She has tried almost every sushi restaurant in the downtown vicinity on multiple occassions and quite often the staff will know who she is. That being said, I definitely trust her opinion on Sushi and right now this place is her favorite. It is a small sit-down/takeout restaurant on Robson street and it is fairly new, and the sushi is fantastic. The salmon is always fresh and since they don't serve famred salmon it is always amazing. The miso soup is complimentary with a minimum $5 order and the staff are always pleasant. The only downside is they don't have any cooked food, it is purely sushi with some noodle soup options. How much do I like this restaurant? My wife and I had our post-wedding celebration here with about 20 of our closest friends and family. We knew this would be a great choise as we wanted a restaurant that wasn't overly expensive, had a great staff and of course a great menu. And Zefferelli's has all of the above. Besides the complimentary bread and tomato dipping sauce, my favorite aspect of this restaurant is the food preparation. A lot of italian restaurants simply boil the pasta and then add the sauce. Zefferelli's actually uses a wok to fry the pasta after it has been boiled to give it a better texture and taste. It doesn't sound like much but it really helps. And for a restaurant that is as well kept and in such a prime location (Robson Street) it is extremely affordable. It's a great place to take a date or to take your picky out-of-town guests. I visited West with a friend that had been there a couple of times before. The outside of the restaurant was very unassuming. You would have no idea that there was a fantastic restaurant inside. Parking may be an issue as it's a busy streetfront but they did seem to have valet. We sat at the bar and had cesars until our table was ready--made fresh with muddled tomato right in front of our eyes. The food was all amazing both in appearance and taste. REALLY good.
