It is a friendly restaurant. The waitresses are nice. The fish (sashimi) was very fresh, but the salmon and tuna were cut in a big chunk (too thick to eat). The the noodles of Nabeyaki Udon were too hard (normally japanese udon should be chewy). The soup of the udon is just a soy sauce soup based with some fish cakes, a shrimp tempura and a fish tempura. The tempura served with the noodles became soggy. The Uni sushi was fresh and the price is good ($6.50 per order). The vegetable tempura dinner is so so. The vegetable tempura were in big chunk, not crispy enough. The sauce of the tempura is okay. I saw other people in the next table who had bento box dinner. Those bento box dinners looked good to me. Japanese and Sushi Restaurants in Financial District Toronto ON

Sushi, miso soup, rice dumplings, there is so much to consider when choosing the ideal Japanese or sushi restaurant.  Before you base your choice solely on the menu plastered outside of a sushi bar or from someone you just met off the street, here are some simple tips to guide your stomach to the best Japanese cuisine in Financial District Toronto ON.

Tips on how to find Japanese and sushi restaurants in Financial District Toronto ON

  • Japanese restaurant reviews: Online and newspaper Japanese restaurant reviews in the food or lifestyle section are your best tools when trying to find top sushi bars in Financial District Toronto ON. Most reviews rate Japanese restaurants by atmosphere, portion size, price and service. These independent reviewers have no one to please but their finicky tastes for all things from the land of the rising sun.
  • The concierge always knows: If you are travelling in a new city, your hotel’s concierge or the hotel staff will be able to find Japanese restaurants that suit your taste buds and budget. The concierge will be able to lead you in the right direction and even place a reservation for you or a takeout order for delivery.
  • What you’re looking for: Authentic Japanese restaurants and sushi bars serve raw seafood and rice inspired dishes. Typical dishes include rice dumplings, tofu, shellfish meals and sake. If you are looking for a particular Japanese dining experience or all you can eat sushi, call the establishment ahead of time and ask if they serve your favourite dishes.
  • Ask the neighbourhood: Most local seafood and wine vendors deal directly with the Japanese restaurants and grills in your neighbourhood. Ask them about the restaurants and bars they deal with and the kinds of meals they serve.
