Have always had a keen enjoyment of this restaurant since my wife introduced me to it 6-7 years ago! As others have noted, the interior decor could be improved upon. The wait-staff are also overtaxed when it is busy (quite frequently)...and usually a bit of a wait when ordering for take-out (so order an hour or two in advance so not to be disappointed...on New Years...order in the morning for dinner pickup time!!)...the spring rolls are excellent as is the chicken satay! Other main dishes are great also depending on your preferences. After having tried a few Thai places in Toronto...our Thunder Bay Thai restaurant is definitely much better!!! Personally I manage a local hotel and we send our guests there time after time. The food is excellent and consistant whether it is just their gourmet pizza's or full dinner entre's. Desserts are to die for especially the creme framboise. The service is always personable and efficient. Their wine list is the best in town and they have won many awards. I stayed in mid Jan 2013. I had a great experience here. Room was excellent and staff were friendly. PLENTY of parking as I had a large truck and easy to get in there. Beautiful hotel interior unlike any I have seen before. Had a late dinner in the restaurant and though the choices were terribly limited food was still good and reasonably priced. Recommend as the ONLY worth while choice in Thunder Bay. Read more

Dim sum at the Canton doesn't disappoint. It's always fresh, authentic, and delicious as it should be. My only issue is with the service, which is inconsistent depending on who is serving. The hired staff is preferred over the owners, as they are more friendly and patient with customers. The owner isn't unpleasant per se, but just a little too involved and expectant.
