We order from Hot Oven once a week. This pizza is deep dish. You get a huge amount of toppings for the money unlike the chain pizza places. All the toppings are fresh and you can taste the difference immediately. Even the crust is good with the honey glaze. I usually don't eat the crust edges from the chain stores but when I get Hot Oven I have to eat it all. It's that good. Do yourself a favor and support the little guy who still cares about quality! I can't bring myself to order from pizza chains anymore since we discovered this place. Only thing I'd like to see is a seafood pizza on the menu. I recommend the Orient duck pizza, Hot Oven Select or Tropic Thunder (if you like spicy). Read more

Okay, I realize that there are not a tonne of public, and for that matter private, courses in the city but you could easily include any of the courses in the 'burbs and still call this the best course. Fraserview was once considered for the PGA tour and would have been used had the city let them lengthen a couple of holes. Oh well, perhaps this keeps this gem of a course a little less busy. Perched high up from the Fraser River you would never know you are smack dab in the middle of a major residential area of the city of Vancouver. Challenging and beautiful this course has another major thing going for it...the green fees. They are so reasonable it is shocking and particularly if you are playing with a junior the rates are very reasonable. The clubhouse is also excellent and offers a wide variety of food and drinks that you can enjoy on the patio while watching players come home on 18...for my money the most challenging hole on the course...but that may be because I lose a ball in the ravine every time I play there! If you are a golfer you HAVE to play Fraserview. Read more

McCleery is nestled in the Southlands of Vancouver and is a fabulous course for a fabulous price. Bounded by tony riding estates and the Fraser River, McCleery is a calm oasis for a relaxing...or in my case not so relaxing...game of golf. The course is rewarding to the accurate golfer and punishing to the not so accurate golfer but in all ways its a lot of fun. If you show up in advance of your tee-time there is a fantastic driving range and the rates at the range are pretty reasonable. If you have time after your round the club house is great and offer a variety of food choices and of course a range of beverages to wash down your food. The patio is great and sitting out there you would never believe you are only 20 minutes from the bustling centre of the city. For a great round of golf at a great price head over to McCleery! They all told me it was going to be close to $2000 because it was a big procedure. I came to Murrayville and the doc told me my dog had Swimmers tail. Just muscle fatigue from the swimming and no serious damage to my dogs health (thankfully). I have never met a more professional and honest vet! Highly recommend! Read more
