The menu is not extensive and there was no overall 'theme' but the food we had was pretty good. They recommended a great wine and the waitress was excellent - both friendly and helpful. We booked at the last minute and were glad we did. Not a fine dining experience if that is what you want but a comfortable experience. We split a salad and the entree portions were a good size. My husband had a Thai noodle type dish and he really enjoyed it. I had the prime rib which came as I requested. We didn't have dessert but marvelled at a couple of plates that went by. Read more

Generally when my family and I try a new restraunt we struggle to find one that all of them like, but within our first visit my kids devoured a large amount of the delicious foods we shared on a Mack daddy platter. I highly recommend Rene's for anyone who enjoys fine dining but doesn't want to experience "sticker shock" when the cheque arrives. While I enjoy fine food, I don't tend to enjoy "upscale" restaurants. The staff are usually haughty, the portions wouldn't satisfy a hummingbird, and I'm supposed to be impressed just because they artistically drizzled some raspberry sauce along the side of the plate. Rene's Bistro was a very pleasant surprise! While the menu choices were creative and the food delicious, the atmosphere was bustling and friendly. If felt more like a neighborhood cafe, and there were obviously both a lot of locals and tourists there. Best of all: no sticker shock. Read more

The Dawghouse is an awesome place to be. The wait staff are long-timers and know everyone. It’s a regular Cheers! So many regulars’ daily... including me. Prices are great the best dish is their Fireside Chicken dinner... their BLT. has 1/2 lb of bacon it in and their wings are always cooked to perfection. Atmosphere is so good.
