Went to this restaurant for the first time at lunch time. We had the lasagna, salad and garlic bread. The food was excellent and the staff is friendly and knows how to treat customers. This type of attitude makes you want to go back. We will certainly be telling our friends about this restaurant! Our next visit will be to bring family to eat here again. Read more

We enjoyed a tasty steak with garlic mash and ceasar salad on the side, chicken wings as a starter and had a lovely chocolates brownie with ice cream, cream and chocolate sauce for desert, excellent and very reasonably priced for downtown Toronto. Our absolute favourite for authentic italian. You know the restaurant is a gem when the local Italians eat there with their whole families (babies too!). As Marcello's is always packed, go early to get a seat (especially if your party is larger than 4) or expect to wait in line at least 30 minutes or longer. Service is prompt when seated and the lively atmosphere makes it very homey. The waiters are efficient, no-nonsense and definitely not snobby(as in other places), and they know the menus. On regular nights we share an appetizer, and dessert with our meals and we are stuffed!! The tirimisu is home made and heavenly; you could easily have seconds. I have been to other restaurants on College street, and quite honestly, at Marcello's the dishes are on par and above on quality. Combine the quality of food, with good portion sizes, very reasonable pricing, and you will see why Marcello's is always packed!! Read more

Fabulous food! I have walked by on several occasions and was certainly not disappointed when finally trying their place. You can tell the food is made from scratch and with skill. The real buffalo mozzarella in the caprese is a nice change and the lamb was cooked perfectly. Ambiance was nice and relaxed, not overly noisy. Waiters are very nice and attentive. Wine list is impressive. Biagio himself was nice enough to introduce himself at our table; A very pleasant surprise. Apparently they have monthly wine tasting events too. We will definitely return.
