Excellent fish and chips dinner! I had halibut and chips with tartar sauce, creamy coleslaw and pasta salad on the side. The servings were very generous. My piece of fish was huge and I had lots of tartar sauce to go with it. I didn't run out. I love the fries. They are just like the ones that my mom used to make. This classic setting overlooking the river and waterwheel complements the casual, fine dining perfectly. The patio has a great view and a casual menu. Inside the cozy fireplace is very romantic or you can get a very private dining room for business or family events. Food was excellent with good variety and local flavours. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. I had a Grilled Sandwich with Bacon, Egg & Cheese with a Cream of Broccoli Soup. The sandwich was great and the soup was to die for - so creamy and made from scratch too! It was ready in minutes, so anyone could be in and out of there on their lunch break without a problem, even though the place was packed. I looked around and was very impressed by how clean and tidy this place was. All the staff, including the chef, was very friendly. The biggest surprise, was when I got to the till and saw how affordable it was! When you get great food, which is affordable, a spotless restaurant, friendly staff with good service, what else could you possibly want.......well, there was one thing - I don't prefer booths or stools, but it is part of the classic diner atmosphere and all the other benefits definitely outweigh this one very minor detail. After learning I would be dining alone tonight, I decided to try a tiny little place I had heard mentioned recently. My waiter was attentive, pleasant and quite knowledgeable about the food he was serving. The overall atmosphere was pleasing and would be the perfect setting for a romantic meal. The choices offered, combined with the soothing surroundings peaked my curiousity enough that I decide for the second time in the evening to try something new. I tried the Bison burger with Warm Potato salad. The server described it to me as a Bison burger with caramelized onions, smoked cheddar, truffle scented mushrooms and barbecue sauce. Jake & Humphreys make all their own bread items that appear on their menu, the combination of the Bison, toppings on a fresh and soft bun, made the whole item a palate pleaser. A nice glass of South African Cabernet Sauvignon enhanced what was already a sumptious dining experience. I will be returning to the restaurant again, definitely a great place to dine, relax and enjoy. Perhaps next time I will take someone with me or perhaps I will again go and enjoy another romantic meal for one! Hopefully next time I have room for dessert as they looked promising! Read more

The menu is not extensive and there was no overall 'theme' but the food we had was pretty good. They recommended a great wine and the waitress was excellent - both friendly and helpful. We booked at the last minute and were glad we did. Not a fine dining experience if that is what you want but a comfortable experience. We split a salad and the entree portions were a good size. I don’t eat out a lot cause I feel like I can do just as good a job at home cooking, but this night we felt lazy so off to dinner we went. We picked a great place. Food was great, in fact my son enjoyed his burger more than the ones at home. Service was very friendly and helpful as my wife wanted something light and couldn’t make up her mind, the server took her time with us and helped make decisions. She recommended the fajitas to my Daughter, and wow what a hit. After reading a couple of the negative reviews, I don’t know what these people are talking about, cause our meal was perfect. And clearly one of the reviewers doesn't know what he's talking about, cause in Ontario, you can serve alcohol at 18, and drink at 19, so I guess that sums up his review and how factual it can be. Last night we decided to go out and try a restaurant we had never been to before. My husband said he felt like Indian food so we decided to try Curry's. What an enjoyable experience! Starting off we were presented with refreshing lime water, the decor was very classy with low lighting and Indian music faintly playing in the background. Our candlelit table was soon laden with scrumptious food starting with an appetizer called Onion Bhaji, six pieces of shredded onion breaded with spiced chickpea batter. Since we follow a vegetarian diet, we decided upon Vegetable Tandoori Masala as our main course. The spicy curry tomato was paired with fresh hot green chillies, spices and vegetable pllao creating an authentic Indian flavor. "Best curry I have ever tasted" was my husbands comment. Our waiter was very polite and attentive and filled out stainless water glasses on numerous occasions with a smile. I would highly recommend Curry's Restaurant for anyone looking for high quality Indian fare served in a fine dining setting. Read more
