I've eaten here many times since moving to the area and have introduced several friends to it now too. It's a small little place with a hockey theme. The booths are kind of small and can be a little claustrophobic, but there are tables out in the open area as well. The food is usually really good. I recommend their nachos. These are not your usual nachos, but are made with cross-cut potatoes with your nacho fixings on top (beef, jalapenos, cheese, olives, peppers). If you're not a big eater, just have this appetizer and you'll be full. The salads are fresh and there are usually some creative things on the specials board. Soups are good and homemade. And if you're a hockey fan, you might run into a few of the Owen Sound Attack on occasion too. Read more

This is a great Japanese restaurant, been there a couple of times and just two days ago brought two of my Australian friends to try the Tappenaki lunch. The Buffalo Chicken sandwich was fresh and not greasy like so many other places. The chicken breast was plump and juicy. Very flavorful. Accompanied with a side garden salad, it was a crisp, heathy alternative to the usual fried companion... My husband and I were recently at the Mill Cafe for lunch with a few friends from out of town. We have been local to the area, but had not been in since the restaurant was renovated. The decor was delightful and vibrant, with unique artwork covering the walls. We were pleasantly greeted by our server who encouraged us to sit wherever we pleased. The menu was fun and fresh and we found it extremely difficult to have to choose from all the delicious items. Our lunch arrived very quickly, and we were more and more pleased with every bite. Local pub with small-town feel but a huge atmosphere. Well priced, diverse soul food menu, friendly staff, cottage-rustic vibe and a nice selection of beer. We went on Wednesday Wing night and it was packed by 5:30 with a short line-up to get in. They had a table for us right away in a nice location. One of us wanted wings and asked if there were any dry-rubbed flavours, as there didn't appear to be any on the menu. To our delight they had a dry Cajun flavour that was excellent. Wings themselves were large and meaty and the vegetables that came with them were just enough and freshly cut. All of which was served with a generous stack of napkins and wet-wipes. The other ordered the aptly named "Long-Weekend Burger" complete with cheddar & Swiss, sautéed mushrooms & caramelized onions and opted for sweet-potato fries as a side for an additional cost. (I don't know about you, but whenever there's a "long-weekend" in my circle there's always bacon involved ~ but they had another burger with some on it) The burger itself was huge, juicy, and did not have a lot of added flavouring allowing the true taste of the beef to come through. This allowed the flavour to be somewhat customized with the good selection of condiments delivered to the table. Freshly cut tomatoes & red onion topped it under a nice Kaiser roll. Sweet potato fries were plentiful, crisp, long and lightly dusted with sea salt to be complimented by white or malt vinegar and/or their own house dip. Beers were served in a frosted glass, which compelled us to have more than one ~ otherwise this would be in the $11-25 range! Bathrooms were clean and adequate. House was well-kept. The only gripe we had was the dim lighting which made it hard to read the Trivial Pursuit cards at each table (which were a very nice touch, even though they were obviously an older US edition!) It's rare to have a great dining experience in such a packed house. Overall this was a great meal and it will likely become a default destination if we can't decide where else to try. Read more

I have visited many Chinese style restaurants in Oshawa and Whitby and I have to say that I was not expecting this degree of quality and freshness from a fast food place. I would have never ordered from here because I always like to take a look at the menu before I get delivery (which I could not find online) but because of location I decided to give it a try, I mean it's only $30-40 after taxes for their specials so no big deal. When I got my first delivery I was shocked of how much food their was and how tasty it was. Not too greasy, spiced and prepped perfectly, warm, timely, and friendly service. For the price, and for how good the food is, I have no idea what these other reviews are talking about, it's most likely the competition. Read more

The Bruce is a great casual spot to go when visiting Kincardine. The patio has a splendid view of Lake Huron (check out all the sailboats on club night). The wings are wonderful, the service pretty danged good, and the owner-operators are conscientious and courteous. I just wanted to share my wonderful experience that my husband and daughter and I had at the European Bakery. We had a great lunch , the service was exceptional, the server was so nice to us. It was very busy ,but we had our lunch in no time. The soup was a home made and the ruebans amazing. I was so impressed that they offered a great Gluten-Free menu Breakfast and lunch as my Daughter has celiac disease it made our dining experience so much better.to top it off the atmosphere was really nice, everyone was very happy! we ended up taking dessert to go, as well as a gluten free dessert for my daughter!also buying a loaf of fresh bread. We could not believe our luck. This cozy little place had all the ambiance of some of the best restaurants in Europe we've visited.Their wine list was really good with some very affordable choices. The food ranged from the best steak I have ever tasted to a delicious Thai dish enjoyed by several of our friends that contained the largest tiger shrimp I have ever seen. The Chef himself visited our table personally on three occasions to answer questions. Very unique place. We strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Kincardine. Read more
