My husband and I dined at La Casa on Saturday night. We started with Mussels for appetizer - delicious...I wanted to drink the sauce it was so good. We also shared a Ceasar Salad. The dressing was very nice, perhaps a bit too much garlic (a little too overwhelming). Still tasty though. I ordered lobster pasta, all I can say is DELICIOUS! So tasty. I brought some home and was looking forward to eating it again the next day for lunch. My husband ordered beef tenderloin. Again, delicious! Tender, perfectly cooked and tasty. The waiter was very professional and friendly. We had a great time and a fantastic meal. No wonder La Casa is still one of the best restaurant's in London. It's so nice to go out for dinner and receive a great meal. The meals are not pretentious or overpriced (unlike other London restaurants in the downtown area). The food is simply delicious. Last night we decided to go out and try a restaurant we had never been to before. My husband said he felt like Indian food so we decided to try Curry's. What an enjoyable experience! Starting off we were presented with refreshing lime water, the decor was very classy with low lighting and Indian music faintly playing in the background. Our candlelit table was soon laden with scrumptious food starting with an appetizer called Onion Bhaji, six pieces of shredded onion breaded with spiced chickpea batter. Since we follow a vegetarian diet, we decided upon Vegetable Tandoori Masala as our main course. The spicy curry tomato was paired with fresh hot green chillies, spices and vegetable pllao creating an authentic Indian flavor. "Best curry I have ever tasted" was my husbands comment. Our waiter was very polite and attentive and filled out stainless water glasses on numerous occasions with a smile. I would highly recommend Curry's Restaurant for anyone looking for high quality Indian fare served in a fine dining setting. Read more

A couple of friends and I went in for dinner about a week ago. As soon as we sat down the waitress was over to take our drink orders. We all decided to get the special of roasted chicken with a mushroom sauce, it was absolutely to die for. The portions were large and potatoes and green beans were cooked to perfection. For dessert we shared a pumpkin creme brulee between the three of us. It was so decadent. Great place to eat and great service. Been there 3 times in the past 2 weeks. I guess there going through change of ownership. Amazing to me how rude people can be. One of the times I was there I was standing in line and some lady was saying she had been waiting an hour. I had walk in behind them and she told the server that she was waiting for over an hour. I've been to Darbar twice. The first time I had the lunch special with a beef curry (don't recall exactly what kind), and thought that it was bland, uninteresting, and it had no heat at all, surprising because I ordered it "hot" The second time I was invited to dinner with a visiting relative. I was reluctant to agree to this restaurant due to my previous experience, but we went nonetheless. This time, I ordered the lamb dansak, and was completely blown away. It was definitely among the best dishes I have ever eaten at a restaurant. The flavour was bold and complex but balanced, and with enough heat to make the dish exciting to eat. I had a taste of the other dishes at the table, which ranged from good to so-so, but my order was truly excellent. Both times, the service was prompt and polite, and the staff was very attentive without being intrusive. If all of the dishes on the menu were comparable to my last visit, I would not hesitate to give Darbar five stars for food. Unfortunately, many items are underperformers. Overall, if you didn't like Darbar, it's worth another shot - you probably just ordered the wrong item the first time. Read more

I love the general atmosphere of this place which is charming and delightful. Its in a beautiful heritage house that transports you back to another time. The service is quite good too. Been a few years since we were at Raxx and were pleasantly surprised this week. Nice renovations make the place look brighter than before and lots of options for seating, pool tables, bar area, TVs, etc. Food was surprisingly good, particularly the chicken wings that were well cooked, perfectly sauced and quite meaty. This was not a Wednesday night so not sure if the wing quality is better/worse/same on the night that wings are discounted. It was a pleasure to have the option of blue cheese dip with real chunks of cheese in it. Wish more places served this with their wings and/or pizza! :) The salad was a huge serving and very fresh ingredients. The grilled chicken was finely shredded and nicely flavoured. I eat a lot of chicken and salad and this was a surprisingly good one. Red wine vinaigrette was a nice option too. Service was a bit slow for refilling drinks and for bringing out the food considering the place was practically empty but the order came exactly as requested including a couple of customizations to the salad. The menu is straightforward and not too complicated nor too many items. Could use a fewer lower-fat items but realistically I wouldn't expect to find much of that on a sports bar menu so not a big deal. We were quite surprised at the food quality and would come back.
