If you were to ask me, What is Sardis Fellowship all about? I would say that the main thing we live for around here is to assist people of all ages to encounter God in a meaningful way and grow in all the fullness of what God has for them. We're passionate about this. We also know that everyone is at different stages in this journey of faith, which means that some are farther along than others. I like to think of Christian community as something like a backpacking trip in the mountains with a bunch of friends where those who are a bit higher on the hot, dusty trail call back to those slugging up a steep section, Keep on coming! The view is great from up here! We need others in our lives to inspire us to keep putting one foot in front of the other, especially when the going gets tough. We are a community of people who are learning how much God loves us, how to increase our faith in Jesus and how to grow in our awareness of the power of His Spirit. We do this through worshipping together, and hearing and obeying God's Word, and mutual support, and sharing in God's mission to our world. We hope that each participant in the life of our fellowship will join one of our many small groups that meet in the community throughout the week. We particularly care about families by providing support to parents who are endeavouring to nurture the best possible environment in their home. More than that, we want to be God's eyes, ears, and hands in the world. We strongly support a wide variety of mission projects in Chilliwack, British Columbia, and around the world. We have 15 years in the concrete cutting and coring field and over time, we discovered a need to serve the small contractors and do it yourself. Yes the budgets are smaller and the prestige of a giant job site is not the same but that is just fine by us.

Photography found me as a young art student intent on majoring in painting and sculpture. I needed to take an options course and I liked to take pictures so I thought why not? It sounds like fun! I borrowed my Dad's 35mm Canon AE1 and headed off to class. I still vividly recall that moment in the dark room when I saw my first print magically developing and I just knew that I had found myself and what I was meant to do. Photography has changed a lot since then - and much like life itself - keeping up with the changes isn't always the smoothest road, but my love and joy for it and the people I photograph has never changed. Seeing the expressions on people's faces and hearing their reactions to what I have seen in them and created for them is one of life's greatest gifts for me. I have learned from my own experiences that there aren't many guarantees in life and we often take much for granted we put off important things saying Oh next year we will get around to that and then before we know it kids have grown and changed or someone had passed on and we are filled with regret that we just didn't do it and missed the moment - often understanding the immeasurable worth of it in hindsight when photos are what we have left to rekindle memories and cherish those times. Creating powerful images that stir the imagination and celebrate the miracle of each life is what my photography is all about.
