I think the title of the review says it all, or almost. What a treat this place is! There can't be more than a dozen tables inside, with a couple more outside, and there were plenty of folks already enjoying the atmosphere when I arrived for a light lunch.
On arrival you are greeted with GENUINE smiles from the courteous staff who obviously love working here, and a free small sample of tea. My sample was Lapsang Souchong... a bit too smokey for my taste, but interesting none the less.
I ordered one of the lunch specials, Moroccan chicken and couscous soup, an egg salad sandwich, and from the rather extensive tea menu I chose the Assam Borengajuli tea. What can I say? It was lovely; a nice, light lunch, delicious soup (although I did have to add a bit of pepper for taste) and an excellent egg salad sandwich. I don't think I've ever considered an egg salad sandwich to be "refreshing" before, but this one was! It wasn't really anything special but it was good. Nice light whole-wheat bread, some nice crispy iceberg lettuce and egg salad that wasn't overpowered by the mayonnaise... or whatever was used. It was perfect!
And the tea, well... I had never heard of "Assam Borengajuli" before, but I'll be danged if it isn't my new favorite! Absolutely delicious tea.
For no particular reason, the word "genteel" springs to mind... A very nice experience over all, and I'm sure I will return. I'd recommend it to anyone.Read more
If you are looking for real smokehouse ribs like the one's at ribfest, this is the place for you! The ribs I had here were amazing! The place has an on site smokehouse and it does make all the difference! Doesn't even compare to ribs just slathered in smokey flavored sauce like most. If you are looking for excellent ribs in Moncton, you'll need to drive to Hillsborough. It's well worth the drive. Best ribs around by a long shot!Read more

Note on the title. I thought it was just called "Bistro" for a long time. That's the only sign you notice... so look for it!
We went to The Ivy Deck for the first time and liked it so much (especially the sweet potato fries!) that we went back there more often than we usually go to any restaurants to begin with.
Great food at a fair price, but the sweet potato fries are more than that. The fries are huge and have perfect seasoning, and the serving is fairly generous.
"Bistro"...sweet fries...go!Read more
