My husband, daughter and I enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton Parkway.We were there for 4 nights from July 4-8. The staff was very helpful and friendly and our room was very comfortable and clean. We only had breakfasts in the hotel restaurant and found it very good. One of the indoor pools was being repaired so we did not see it. The other pool (Sheraton section), however, was crowded on the nights we were there. This might have been because the other pool was closed, I guess. All in all, a great hotel! Read more

I found this gem through Expedia. Even though it's uptown it's in the nice Yonge-Sheppard corridor,with easy access to downtown via the subway or any suburban destination via the Highway 401. Toronto is notorious for pricey hotels,so being able to find one at around a hundred bucks a night works for me. It's located in a nice neighborhood,with lots of good shopping and dining nearby. One of the criteria, I judge a hotel by besides cleanliness is the bed and linens. All were first rate. I'd highly recommend Maryam Hotel & Suites. Read more

I first visited Allen's back in the 80's, not long after it opened, and I was instantly smitten. So much so, in fact that I moved into the neighbourhood! First I was a regular, then a nuisance, and finally a piece of furniture. I finally moved back to Markham in 1998, and cannot justify going anywhere south of Steeles Avenue without stopping into Allen's for lunch. The food is imaginative, superbly prepared, and so delicious, that even when I'm full, I often look at the menu again, just to see what I'll be ordering on my next visit! And the patio?
