Not only does your food come fast, but it's been marinating for quite some time. This is how Indian food ( and Pakistani) is actually cooked. If you go to an Indian restaurant and you're waiting for an hour and a half for your dish thinking it's going to be fresh and that's how it's made, you're wrong. Indian food takes HOURS to make. The sauces and spices need time to sink into the meat, and they do exactly that at Tika house. The service is great, they're always on top of your water and they don't expect you to tip! People might complain about the atmosphere but the reason why they made the place like that is because in India and Pakistan the best tasting places are done up like Tika house so you can focus on the food instead of the decor. The washrooms are very nice though! Best Indian place in the city. Don't bother going anywhere else. Read more

Ive been coming here since i moved a couple minutes down the street almost 10 years ago and i have yet to be disappointed! Serving sizes are huge, and are all under 10 dollars. All the food i have tried has been amazing and i highly recommend the sesame chicken and mostly the shanghai noodles. Really great mom and pop restaurant, only negative is the limited seating but everyone orders take-out. Dont listen to the review beneath mine buddy has no idea whats good. Read more

All homemade food using fresh ingredients. I loved that the sauces (especially the sweet and sour) are not commercially made. Also, loved that the vegetables were crisp. The owners were friendly and very accommodating. My family of 4 went with our friends (family of 3) and they allowed us to rearrange the tables so we could all sit together. I was disappointed to read the previous reviews on this page because the restaurant deserves so much more. The food is always so fresh, colourful and delicious. In terms of price and quality it can't be beat. i suggest you try it for yourself. It is one of my absolute favourite restaurants. They don't seem to have a lot of cutomers which is a huge mystery to me. Honestly, you will not be disappointed unless you are a highly critical person. Read more

Let me start off by first saying the portions are generous and the food is delicious (especially the general tao chicken which is the perfect amount of spicy and sweet). The service was great and made sure we were enjoying our meal. As a resident of Aurora, I (like the previous reviewer) used to need to go south to either Richmond Hill or Markham before I get a taste of authentic Chinese food but now that I have discovered a local gem I am highly impressed.
