We offer a variety of courses that our design to exercise both your body and your mind. At Calgary Hot Yoga we provide sequenced and non-sequenced classes. Sequencing (meaning the class is same every time) allows the body to flow through the poses while calming the mind. As we learn the sequence, we no longer have to think about what is coming, we just know, and with muscle memory our bodies flow through the asanas (poses) creating an atmosphere of meditation. New to CHY are non-sequenced classes. These classes like "Free Flow" and "Pure Yin" are different each time, creating a greater connection of body and mind. As we challenge the body through poses, the mind has to connect with the body to figure out how to move our muscles in the direction we want the body to go! All of our classes are all levels. Meet the owner

Calgary Hot Yoga owner and instructor Craig Esau was no fan of yoga until friends dragged him to his first hot yoga class. “Now it’s like a second home,” says Esau of his own yoga studio. Opened in 2001 under a different owner, it was the first hot yoga facility in Calgary and the first Canadian hot yoga studio outside Toronto. Today, it is one of about 10 Calgary businesses featuring yoga classes in rooms heated to 40 degrees Celsius and juiced up with 40 per cent humidity. The dual purpose of this is both to duplicate the atmosphere of a yoga studio in India — the birthplace of yoga — and to increase the flexibility of participants.
