Cally’s Teas is one of the few tea rooms in Edmonton that observes the classic afternoon tea. Begun in October of 2004, Cally wanted to bring the British custom of traditional tea service to Canada. With an eclectic selection of tea, food and giftware, this fine tea room located on Whyte Avenue sets itself apart from the other cafés who serve the beloved beverage.

“Tea is thriving locally,” Cally says. “But aside from hotels, we are one of the few places in Edmonton that has a full tea menu, including afternoon tea.” The busiest time of day for Cally’s Teas coincides with traditional afternoon tea time (from 2 to 4 p.m.).

Enjoy some organic sweet and savoury baked goods with a cuppa tea at Cally’s. They offer more than 250 flavours to choose from, so you might have a tough time choosing just one. The shop also offer a light afternoon tea, complete with cucumber finger sandwiches, peppercorn shortbread crackers, scones with cream and jam and sweets. Or, spring for the high tea, which includes everything the light afternoon tea does, plus a savoury quiche or bread pudding. They even have gluten-free options for both versions!

Scones and tea are basically soulmates, so it comes as no surprise that Cally’s Teas has amazing, fresh-baked scones. I dare you to think of something more enjoyable than sitting in a cute tea shop with a cup of Earl Grey and a hot scone with strawberry preserves and clotted cream, pretending you are the queen of England.
