Lemon Grass

I don't understand the horrible reviews! This place is awesome! The food, service and take out are great! The restaurant is small, but if people aren't so up tight, you may enjoy it better. Just a thought.

Overated neighbourhood restaurant

The only reason this place stays in business is the neighbourhood it's in. I had 3 lunch experiences with the Lemon Grass. First on my own with my husband and two other times I was invited. When entering a restaurant like this I always scan the patrons. Each time the place was packed with mostly seniors and suburban women. Not that there anything wrong with them, but usually when the place is filled with these guests then you'll know the menu is "safe". This is not the Thai experience one expects...the menu items intrigue but upon tasting there nothing to even note "Wow this is good or exciting!" I guess this place best serves "safely" its established clientele as I mention above. But for a fussy foodie who works hard for her income, I expect to get full value and experience from every meal out I purchase whether it's sub sandwich or filet mignon. I would not recommend this place to my other foodie friends. It's okay for the average eater.

Had to check out for myself.

After reading all the bad reviewes I had to go check it out for myself. I am of the kind that would get up and leave without paying and making a lot of noise if the service is of the 'smart a$$ type' and the food is garbage. My wife and I were seated right away, ordered drinks and appetizers first and entrees later. Had to have some patiance with the waitress to make sure she understood all the order items, she did not speak english well but was eager to serve. Food arived promptly and was of excelent quality in terms of taste and portion in relation to the cost. I observed other people in the small dining area and everyone seemed to be having a good time. The staff was helpfull but did not seem to have a genuine interest on what they were doing, it was rater like they did what they had been told to do. A smile would go a long way and this review would be excelent in all terms. Will definetly go back again.
