It's been a number of years since I last visited the "Doctor" for a meal. I should have kept those memories instead of returning for what ended up as a disastrous meal.... for all 9 at our table. My wife sent her chicken supreme back initially because there was no "supreme" in the middle. The second time around, the chicken was dry and "off" in taste. The prime rib medium rare.. was not and very much over cooked. Service was very inconsistent (unless you were at a much larger patron table). All this, and the 15% gratuity is AUTOMATICALLY TAKEN OFF. No incentive for wait staff! Not only has the good "Doctor" left the house..... he has no intension of returning. Consider yourself warned.
Been there 3 times (usually birthdays and occasions because it tends to be pricy!).
Last time we went, was one of the worst dinners I ever had in a, supposedly, fancy restaurant.
The place was almost empty (used to be packed!), but still, it took them 30 minutes to bring out the appetizers (soup/ salads) and another 40 (yes, 40 minutes!) to bring out the main course. We were aging fast waiting for our food...
The food itself was made by a rookie cook. No way a seasoned Chef could make so many mistakes! The steak (we ordered medium rare) was extremely dry and chewy, there was no meat on the lamb chops, the chicken was dry and tasteless (at least marinate it in some salt, for crying out loud!). The only thing I managed to enjoy were the veggies that came as a side dish. We asked the waiter if the restaurant is under new management. Turns out IT IS! OK. Got it...
Pity, it was once the pinnacle of Kleinburg !
