My wife set up a family fathers day breakfast here.....we had relatives from out of town attend...breakfasts were ordered, the conversation was fine...the service was fine. we paid the bill and were discussing the day ahead when the manager (owners son) came over and asked us to LEAVE because he had a party of seven waiting for a table.
We were really put off by this fool hardy display...as we WERE regulars to this establishment.
So diners beware......if you are with your families for a special occassion.....DONT TAKE THEM HERE!!
I guess the manager needs to improve his social skills.
Food is pretty bad. Had the chicken salad sandwich and it was a scoop of plain chicken salad on toasted wonderbread with a bit of lettuce. Pretty boring. Fries were alright and the rice pudding was cafeteria blah. Waitress was nice enough but forgot my french onion soup. Wife had the grilled chicken sandwich and it was literally a grilled piece of chicken on a bun. Had to ask for some mayo.
Went there on Mothers Day, considering there was a line up and they were very busy for the bruch time. We got seated quickly and service was fast and friendly. Great food, we were a party of four and everybody enjoyed their food.
Will definetly go back and will recommed this restaurent to everyone.
I was pleasantly surprised by everything. The prices were reasonable, the food was good and the service was prompt and friendly. The portion sizes are HUGE and I felt like we certainly got great value for the money spent and had enough left overs for another meal.
The only thing we would change is having real ice cream on the dessert menu rather than frozen yogurt which melted too quickly and therefore messy.
We will definitely eat there again :)
Excellent value for your dollar. Portions are large and food is tasty. The atmosphere is nice and reasonably quiet. Staff needs to be a little more attentive however as it is sometimes difficult to get refills of coffee etc. Overall a nice dining experience.
This restaurant had a very pleasant atmosphere. The food portions were average and the food itself was good. This is a great restaurant to go for the price. Some of the nearby restaurants are very steep in price and this is a great alternative. It is just 1 minute from the St. Jacobs' downtown area and seats up to 150 people.

The dining room was warm and cozy. We ordered the kids meals first, the spaghetti was a hit. The soup my wife ordered was good, like from scratch. The mains arrived, mostly excellent except the vegetables were limp. The service was just OK. we ordered dessert a nice homemade coconut cream pie for me and an earth shatteringly good blueberry torte(figures although I did get a taste)
I had eaten there a year ago and had the fish and chips...I thought I would try it again. This time the fish was hardly visible and it was like a deep fried pancake. One of my companions also order the same meal and hers was fine. I did not eat my meal and the server took away a whole plate. When the server asked my companions how their meals were there were no complaints. I then took the opportunity to let her know that my meal was not edible. SHE suggested that she would talk to the manager to see if something could be done. The message that was passed along from the manager was, it is the same person dipping the fish so there was nothing to be done.The rudeness of the message only made me want to speak to the manager in person. After voicing my concern, her reply basically was that it was a special of the day and that is to be expected!!! When I asked her if it was okay to serve substandard food to patrons she walked away. She appeared that she did not care. This was not about receiving money...I was a guest... just a simple want to be treated with courtesy. As I read the other comments about the manager, I thoroughly understand.
Nice climate and quick seating. The food was ready in a reasonable amount of time and tasted good, the service was good (the waitress made sure everything was O.K.)as well. Will go back soon.
This place is great, very busy on weekend breakfasts but still quick efficient service. Food is always served hot here which seems to be a luxury these days.The prices are incredible for the amount of food that you get. (pancake combo:2eggs, 2 pancakes, bacon, homefries and toast for around 7bucks!!) Give the woman at the door a break, she is your typical, over worked, old school, Greek lady. She just adds to the charm of this great establishment.
Not a bad value. Service was slow and indifferent until we ordered desert and then we saw a smile. Many tables came well after us and left before we finished our entrees. We waited 35 minutes for our entrees, others were 10-15 minutes. The manager walked by constantly but never stopped to ask how we were, or your food will be up shortly. We felt neglected even though we were in the middle of the dining room. Food was ok, service - adequate but overall a decent value. Family ambience. I wouldn't really go out of my way to return.

the only negative comment I have is the owner's wife and our waitress both need to get some lessons in people's skills. Running a restaurant takes much social etiquette. If you can't smile...you shouldn't be in the business...
Service was very poor and shocking at this restaurant. After eating a late breakfast, my parents and I were told abruptly and rudely to leave as lunch rush had begun. We were there for just over an hour and were just enjoying quality family time as I was visiting from out of town. This embarassing and uncalled for action ensures that I will not be a future customer and word of mouth will ensure that I will continue to warn others of this unfortunate experience.

Have eaten here before the previous year, we were in the area on a road trip, due to the excellent service and quality/quantity of food, it was only natural to eat here again. The server was great, the food took long to arrive, it was hot, there was more than enough to eat ( in fact we could not eat all that was served), service fast, courteous. To comment on the lady with the 4 yr old and the eggs....some people just like to hear themselves talk. Perhaps this lady has her standards set to high!! High recommendations to anyone who would consider this a place to eat.
Food portions were great! Restaurant was spacious and well-lit. Food was very good and I saw quite a few local people eating there (Amish). The atmosphere was very good and prices very reasonable. I would definitely go back there!

Rude & cold service. We came in with a party of 10 & it was like we were putting them out -- and it was the owner/manager who was seating us! Food took a long time to arrive, when 1 child's order was completely incorrect, she argued that the child ordered eggs (the child was 4, allergic to eggs, gags on eggs & almost in tears from this server). Her correct meal arrived almost an hour later & cold.

The setting is very nice with plenty or leg room for everyone to sit. Tables are placed far enough away so that you can hold a conversation with the members of your party.

I have eaten here multiple times and always the food and service is fantastic. Very large portions, very reasonable prices, and always very good. Best fish and chips I have ever had anywhere. I have taken multiple friends to this restaurant and everyone has been very impressed with the food and the prices.
