Had heard so many positive things about the Mahle House, decided to make the drive to Cedar to give it a try. It was a great decision. The room is...quaint. Style of decor wasn't really my cup of tea but it's an old house and it suits its purpose. I must say it was quite cozy. Server was a little frumpy but efficient and attentive. That must sound so shallow, but I want to be honest. She didn't make suggestions, which is something I adore when dining out. My guest and I dine out all the time, so we were able to navigate the menu with ease anyway. Reading the menu, everything sounded delicious. We decided on the seafood trio appy in which all the seafood was cooked just right. Scallop seared only on one side and tender. These folks know how to do it right. I had the stuffed chicken and my guest had the tuna. I was surprised at how large the portions were. I could not finish my meal, it was huge, rich and soooo good. My guest had the tuna which was slightly overcooked, though we did not specify a temperature (we like it rare), but nonetheless very tasty. We managed to save room for dessert and shared a dessert sampler. Rich chocolate treats and a small creme brulee. Fabulous. I will definitely go back for the food and have no quams about telling friends to try it out. Read more

One of the great top 5 Sushi places in Vancouver. The Sushi has excellent presentation, and it tastes great. Not your average sushi rolls, but the ingredients they use and the way they use them make for a great dining experience. Not my typical kind of bar. Here for a work party. Was ready to finish up my last (full) beer when the bottom of the cup completely fell off as I went to take my first sip. The Manager was extremely gracious and refunded my entire entre (27 dollars), and 3 beers. Obviously I’m happy about the freeness, being soaked sucked, but service like that is how you keep returning customers. Great attitude towards the whole thing. Very kind staff. Read more

It was my first time being at Cactus Club West on Broadway & Granville. My experience there was phenomenal! Not only was the food delicious, our server Emma F definitely made the night for us and she will be someone we won’t forget! We had dinner there this evening. I haven’t had Greek food for so long and decided to check out Minoas. I was really impressed with the friendly staff and fast service even though they were busy. We had Calamari, the lamb Kleftico and a vegetarian dish Imam Baldi which was delicious! We couldn’t finish it all so took the leftovers home for lunch tomorrow. We’ll definitely be coming back with family! Read more

Yaletown Brewing Company was one of the first restaurants involved in the revitalization of Yaletown and the fact that they're still here has got to tell you something. They make good food and, since they are a brew pub, they make great beer. Like all the other Mark James Group restaurants they offer the cheap beer and pizza nights that my family and I enjoy so much but quite often we head here for all the other great items on the menu too! If you can't decide which beer you want to try ask the server for one of their tasting flights where you get four different beers to sample. The location is outstanding and they have a lounge on one side and restaurant on the other so if you just want drinks and appys after work they are a great spot to choose! Last time we were there I had the Jakarta bowl with lamb tenderloin in a soy sauce with peppers and it was outstanding, My folks were with us and they swore by the fish and chips as well. One other cool thing that Yaletown does is if there is a game on at Rogers Arena they offer shuttle service to the game. So go on down to Yaletown Brewing Company and check them out! Read more
