I moved to Surrey 2 years ago and just couldn't find any restaurant that served good old fashion home cooked greasy spoon diner fare. I spotted Round-Up Cafe on a drive by and decided to pull over and try it out. They refurbished the chairs to a fabulous sparkly silver. It is cozy and comfy and very clean and the owners are extremely friendly. I ordered a soup for my toddler and a special for myself. I was surprised the special came with a soup and a desert which was nice for $12. Coffee is $2.10 and they only charge once and are excellent with refills. Food was 'just like grandma used to make' very tasty. Soup was a bit to peppery for my taste buds. My main was excellent but if you don't want gravy, you need to order it on the side or they pour it on. Coffee was excellent. My son loved the vanilla pudding - another unexpected surprise. The restaurant was packed at lunch on a weekday. This is a restaurant I would recommend Grandad to visit. Nice old fashion 1940s diner feel with good home cooking. Read more

Northern Vietnamese cuisine. I have tried their other location but happen to be in the area. We came here right at 11am opening so lots of tables to choose from. Only one hour street parking close or just drive two blocks in on the side streets and no time limit. We enjoyed the mango salad, pyramid rice dumpling filled with pork and mushrooms - nice smooth rice texture, deep fried crab meat rolls and ‎the traditional Vietnamese sandwich. Most people know what Starbucks does. For those of you that don't they are a great place to go for coffee-based beverages, smoothies, pastries and sandwiches. One of the things Starbucks does well is consistency, most times your favourite beverage is made well and the way you expect it. Let's face facts. Most Starbucks stores are more are less the same but that doesn't mean that they don't have differences. Here's what makes this store different. They are one of few drive thrus in the city and they are a convenient stop on the way into the city. They are not as convenient on the way out of the city but it can be done if you don't mind a circuitous route. The only problem with this store is that I have sometimes had some poor quality with my beverage. This is difficult when you have already continued on your way so i always make sure I take a sip before I pull away. Read more
