The service was excellent . My Husband and I both had the 7oz steak . Was done very well . Tried their Spice Rum and very smooth drink . We had a booth and there was a candle on the table made it romantic. Love the soft music playing . Lovely evening to remember . We were visiting Ottawa for Thanksgiving weekend and for my birthday . We have been visiting The Works for over 8 years and have yet to be disappointed. They add new items to their menu regularly (every 3 months - ??) and are very consistent. Our service last night was excellent, our meals were delicious, and we left with smiles on our faces.

Our party of 6 sat out on the patio for our supper on a beautiful sunny day at the end of May. The service was good and for the most part the food was ok except for two out of our party who ordered the hamburgers.
Its disappointing that they can't make the effort to make their own patties. Espcially considering our wait time. Its not like the food was served super fast. In fact, it took a while but we didn't mind as we weren't in a rush.
Anyways, the burger patties are the kind of processed "precooked" patties that you can buy in the frozen food section at a grocery store. Rubbery and very off putting. A disappointment!
I had the NY strip steak, not bad but I ordered rare and it wasn't rested when they served it. Not a big deal.
We also had the calamari, zuccini sticks and patotoe skins for appetizers. All passable but nothing to write home about.
I'd go back again for a drink and an appetizer but I probably wouldn't have a meal. I love the pub inside, very old school british pub feel. I think it would be cosy in the winter. The patio has a great view and is a nice place to go for a drink.
