Simpson Ranching Ltd is a family-owned, agricultural corporation which was first established in the Alberta foothills in 1956. Since that time the ranch has expanded its original holdings and its farming operation in order to run up to 1000 Hereford cows. A crew of 3 to 5 ranch hands and a ranch manager run day to day operations at Simpson Ranching. Daily operations are guided by a detailed operations manual, which describes daily, weekly and monthly tasks for the entire year, along with detailed descriptions of equipment use, setup and maintenance. Along with the operations manual, is a precise animal health protocol in accordance with industry regulation, and digital animal record keeping dating to 1982. The combination of these three tools makes operations at Simpson Ranching run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
