The worst customer service I have ever received. I cannot believe I was treated so poorly not only as a customer, but a human being.

Recently I was walking along King Street. It was early evening and a overcast. The shop was so well lit up I had to enter. I told the young sales associate inside that the shop was like a little ray of sunshine on this dark street. Charlotte was very enthusiastic with her knowledge of all their treasures inside. What a gem!....ecostems and Charlotte!

The up-and-coming Corktown neighbourhood hosts this eco-friendly, sustainable foliage shop. Although Ecostems offers beautiful organic and fair-trade certified flowers, it’s the plants that really steal the show. Terrariums and succulent displays greet you upon entering the shop, making it a go-to for a truly unique piece of nature to add to your home.

Nothing could be greener than plants and flowers, right? Not so much, as it depends on how they’re cultivated and stored. Joseph, the owner, uses only fair trade flowers, recycled pots and vases and reclaimed/recycled/reused wood for the display furniture. Even the greeting cards on bouquets are eco-friendly, made in Winnipeg from 100 per cent recycled paper. While some shops stop at just carrying eco-conscious items, this place takes it all the way home in everything they do.
