I have been to Golden Basil twice in the last month...both times I had very enjoyable meals..maybe not the best Thai food that I've ever had but certainly adequate. Actually, more than adequate. Portion size is generous...food is tasty, service both times was prompt and efficent...atmosphere leaves a little to be desired..but this is a great place for a quick lunch. I would recommend. I had the olive dish to start, this dish is simple but very well done, I enjoy some olives with a nice cold pint and a piece of bread to go with it, the oil lightly flavored with fresh herbs, although a better quality oil would have been nice it was still well done. After that i decided to try the fish and chips since it is VERY hard to find good fish and chips I thought if they understand how olives can be enjoyed they might do a good fish a chip, and I was right, homemade chips and a perfectly cooked fish. I love this place! Their sushi is actually DELICIOUS!!! I'm always full after I go here...in fact, I vomited once from being too full. I love that they have stamp cards!!! So fun!! Their signature 'hockey sushi' is seriously SLAMMIN!!! However, I discovered a fish bone in the sushi once...and upon closer inspection, I found out that the outer layer of the hockey sushi is actually fish skin! This turned me off! I wish I hadn't made that discovery because this roll is fantastic. The location is fairly remote... my GPS was going completely NUTS on the way here. Up hill, down hill, through construction zones- getting here was a journey in itself! But worth it! soooo good! SOOOOO good!!! Read more

Incredible service 100%. The sticky toffee pudding is TO DIE FOR. Their mussles are so good that my 10yo orders them every time we were there. Yeah, that’s right, a 10yo. The same kid who won’t even look at a pizza if it has touched pizza sauce. During COVID, the service standard has been consistently amazing.
