BIG Winter Classic

Why wait until the summer to have some fun? Big Winter Classic is a big party in winter, featuring art, music and local beer. The 2018 lineup includes stars of the underground music scene from Calgary (including Madcowboys and Jung People), Siksika Nation (Chief N' Council, Iron Tusk) and other artists from all over the continent.

Best of the Banff Mountain Film Festival

The highly-acclaimed Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival brings 18 of the more than 40 films screened in the mountain town to Calgary during this event. From rock climbing and mountaineering to wildlife and adventure, this film festival is an exciting peek into the world of mountain culture.

Discover the story of Apa Sherpa, who was forced to become a porter when he was 12 years old and has since climbed Mount Everest 21 times, or the story of Johanna Nordblad, who freedives under ice. No matter what film you decide to check out, it's certain these screenings are sure to be captivating and inspirational.

High Performance Rodeo

Settle in for a month-long celebration of art in the city! High Performance Rodeo (HPR) features music, dance, theatre and various forms of art and is the largest festival of its kind. Produced by One Yellow Rabbit Performance Theatre, HPR has been held in Calgary since 1987 and continues to surprise with its edgy performances and progressive shows.

Prana Yoga Festival

Prana Yoga Festival's INTEND is the first of a four-part yoga festival scheduled in Calgary. Get out your yoga mats and set your goals and intentions for 2018. The festival includes yoga practices with master teachers, guided meditations, live music and more.

Winter CARnival

Heritage Park is bringing a world of winter celebrations to Cowtown, so dress warm and join in on the fun. Festivities scheduled include a Peruvian coin toss game and Tuho, a Korean game played during New Year festivities. Events scheduled also include curling and the opening of a time capsule from 2017 with messages to the future.
